The Claire Lynch Band Will Perform May 2nd Corsair Concert

Multiple influences color Michael Cleveland’s work, from the rich tone he patterned after Chubby Wise through the fluid double-stops he picked up from such artists as Bobby Hicks and Vassar Clements, to the crisp articulations adapted from the Fender Telecaster picking of Nashville studio ace Brent Mason. On faster tempos he ratchets the momentum with remarkable triplets that explode against the confines of the four-bar structure. But what distinguishes him from all others—those who preceded him or travel the circuit today—is his combination of technical fluency and raw aggression; in this blend of polish and passion, Cleveland arguably has no peer.

Advance tickets ($15) for the Saturday May 2nd concert are available at Nordic Sports in East Tawas. Proceeds from the concert series are used to maintain and operate the Corsair Skiing and Hiking Trails in the Huron National Forest.
